Stained plywood top with the traditional playing surface silkscreened in red, yellow and black, holes for the marbles to sit in. The skirt and legs are solid wood (probably pine) stained to match the top. It opens and folds up easily and is sturdy although I don't think the top would support something heavy since it is only a plywood surface. The game board is set up for playing with 10 pieces per player. I'm sorry that I don't have a bag of playing pieces to go with this. Some minor wear and marks to the surface but considering age, it is in very nice condition and I don't think the signs of age are distracting. It can be stored in a closet or better yet, hung on a wall in your game room or basement. The game of Chinese Checkers originated in Germany just before the turn of the last century and was called Stern-Halma.
