A rare segmented tube which was part of a French Raquette or Petard grenade ( also known as a hairbrush). This tube was filled with explosive and strapped to a paddle like wooden board and had a five second fuse fitted. Mainly from 1915 although they were still in use in 1917. Found near Ypres. The integrity of the metal is solid and firm. A superb display piece and a heavy, rare lump of history. Ideal for school projects, as a teachers aid or equally to add to the collection.
