This beautiful handmade skinning knife has a 4 ¼" blade made of 5/32" thick high carbon stainless steel and is 8 ¾" overall. The up-sweep style blade has a high polished mirror finish. The handle which has a finder groove is made of deer stage and has two mosaic pins which are brass with red accent.This custom handmade knife is made by Colin Gregory Cox, son of the well-known knife maker Colin J. Cox of Raymore, Missouri. Colin Cox made knives from 1980 until his passing in 2013. Colin was a voting member of the Knife Makers Guild. Colin and Greg previously lived in the Orlando, Florida, area and while there Colin was able to work with the former Mr. Bo Randall, of Randall Made Knives, doing repair work on knives in the Randall Museum. While so doing he was able to adopt methods of fine workmanship to further improve his own knife making skills. Greg learned his techniques of making handmade knives by studying under his father from a very young age. He was only a boy when he made his first knife and started making his knives for sale within the last 8 years. Greg is very detailed oriented and his knives are of collectible quality. Greg continues to make knives as a hobby to carry on the legacy of his father. The same methods of tempering and tools of workmanship are used in making his knifes.
