An awesome lot of vintage checks, two are from the 1870s (1877 and 1879), the rest are from 1880 through 1884. I count 110 used paper checks. The 1877 check is from the Bank of Lowville signed by Fowler. The 1879 check is also Fowler but from Black River National Bank of Lowville, Lewis County NY made payable to an L.A. Scott. The rest are all checks made out by James Grace and from the Black River National Bank of Lowville. Most have US Inter. Rev 2cent stamps on them. Some of the names checks are made out to: Carrigan, Comstock Bros, Herrick, Kendrick, Shead adn Graves, Leonard, Tallman & Ingraham, Palmer, Farwell & Rhines, Stevens & Titus, Phelan, Graves & Co, Homer and Thomson, Woodruff, Hutchinson & Clark, Richardson, Greenway Co, Reinhardt, Rutherford, Moshier Brothers, Cadwell, Dubois, Winslow & co, Doyle, Siegal, etc. (I may not have spelled all of these correctly, some were hard to read)All are signed and/or stamped on the back when cashed/deposited.Please see photos for an idea of the checks. Remember, there are (I think) 110 of these. My count may be off by one or two, but I counted 110.Range of conditions from poor to good, with most being overall good condition, especially for papergoods that are around 140 years old. Some rips, stains, holes, most have pin holes in them where there were pins holding stacks together.
