We are very pleased to be able to offer this wonderful circa 1860 16-Tin Primitive Walnut Pie Safe in Old Style Blue Green Paint. This is a plantation pie safe cupboard from Virginia, Civil War era and used in a plantation house. The 16 hand punched tins are incredibly detailed and have remnants of old paint as you can see in the pictures. The tins are pierced and punched by hand in beautiful, intricate cornflower design, some of the most intricately detailed we've seen. This pie safe is made of walnut and pine secondary. It is pegged, chamfered, mortise and tenon. This is in Blue Green Paint which isn't old but painted, aged, oxidized and seemingly authentic. The Patina is wonderful. Inside above are four shelves, great 16" wide boards, and one deep shelf below , offering great storage space. This pie safe is in very strong, sturdy condition, with some restoration back to its original condition. The lower right front door has an age crack, adding character to the piece. This has beautiful form and is a nice, tall size. It measures 71 1/2" tall x 41" wide x 18" deep. The tapered feet are 6 1/2" high.
