This is a scarce and neat looking 1861 Bashlow restrike Confederate Cent - These were made by Robert Bashlow in 1961, who used the original (defaced) dies made by Robert Lovett in 1861. Lovett only minted 12 pattern pieces before defacing the dies. The chisel marks on the reverse and hammer blows on the obverse are clearly visible on this coin. A very neat and SCARCE item. It grades around F condition with some various marks and rim nicks. A neat piece of history and SCARCE in any condition.
