CHINA Domestic postcard sent Chinese Imperial Post from somew on the Upper Yangste to Shanghai in 1917. The picture side shows a view of "JUNKS WAITING THEIR TURN TO ASCEND THE YEH-TAN WILD RAPID, UPPER YANGSTE". Handwritten message states "Dear B.. Had a most pleasant day up the gorges. Kind regards to A & Self, Samuel" I do not expect to arrive in Shanghai before Friday 22nd inst.". An attractive and fascinating card full of character.
