There is a ballroom where many world famous bands played; Jimmy Dorsey, Louis Prima and many more. Included with the program is sheet announcing the acts and shows for August 9, 1947.History " George Abou ben Harnid was born in the countryside village of Broumana, Lebanon, where the sport of acrobatics was as common for agile youngsters as baseball is today for Americans. Mr. Hamid thus learned to tumble as soon as he learned to walk, and by the age of was helping Broumana to win contests with neighboring villages. He was attracted to professional acrobatics by his uncle, chief of the Abou ben Hamid Tumbling Arabs, an important act in the world ‐ famous Buffalo Bill Show of Col. William F. Cody . At the age of 9, Mr. Hamid got a job carrying water with the Buffalo Bill Show in Marseilles, France. Soon his own acrobatic talent caught the eye of Colonel Cody himself, who gave him increasingly greater roles in the acts. At the age of 13, the youth was recognized as the international world acrobatics champion after winning a contest at Madison Square Garden. read more
