1971 Gem Uncirculated Silver 20 Balboa Original Roll This is an originally wrapped Uncirculated Roll of 10 coins that weigh over 4oz Each This coin is in near PERFECT Proof condition! This coin is virtually perfect with no spots or hazy surfaces - still sealed in plastic Over 40oz of Sterling - This was the largest legal tender coin in the world in 1971 This Coin commerates the 150th anniversary of independence for Central America from Spain ! The obverse of the coin features: The bust of Simon Bolivar – The reverse features: The Panamanian coat of arms. There is a listed mintage of 69,000 coins minted - actually minted at the Franklin mint for Panama. Although many of these coins were spent or have spots and stains do to the inferior packaging they were issued in. this coin was tucked away for years in (PVC Free) inert packaging materials. The coin is 37.9mm and .900 fine silver. Many of these have been melted for silver especially in 1980 when silver hit $48 the first time.
