XLC Kimport Stockinet Soviet UnionRussian Russia Cloth 5 10" 1930s Vint USSR CCCP Europe European in ColectrBks In the late 1920s and early 1930s a series of wonderfully made all cloth stockinette dolls was made representing the peoples of the newly formed Soviet Union (The USSR: The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics -- what they abbreviated as CCCP in the Cyrillic alphabet.) There are several lovely series of cloth dolls from this period in the Soviet Union. This doll is from a set of eight stockinette dolls (that I know of) and I tend to call this group them the “sweet face” girls. They are all adorable and always make me smile. I am selling five from the series of eight today. They are duplicates in my collection. I will happily ship up to five of the girls for the cost of shipping one. Please see my other auctions. Three of them are shown in a picture from a website for collectors: /Russian-Doll-Collector-Two.html (see pic) They are extremely collectable today, but they are often only found in pretty tough shape. They are shown in several doll collector books. There is a picture of my complete set shown here. They are featured in some doll books and websites, and they are shown in the 1930s-early 1940s (pre WWII) catalogs of the Kimport Doll Company of Independence, MO.
