Vintage English Carved Oak Wall Shelf Coat Plate Rack Extra Large, 4 ft. length, DARK finish! This listing is for another wonderful carved oak hanging wall shelf that I purchased in a recent English container sale. T were a large number of these shelves in this particular container shipment, so I have listed several shelves over the past few weeks and will list a few more this weekâe¦.normally, I donâe(tm)t see this many shelves in six months, so consider purchasing one while they are available!!! The shelf is EXTRA long, almost four feet, and has wonderfully detailed carvings in the center panel, with beveled and scalloped details on the edges. The shelf also has FIVE brass character hooks along the bottom and two grooves on the back edge to support plates or, as many decorators are doing today, displaying a collection of framed prints. The shelf has a deep, rich, dark finish (which was difficult to photograph!) and a lovely aged patina. The measurements are appx. 48âe x 14âe x 8âe. As mentioned, for those interested in comparing styles, I do have several other European wall racks that I am listing this week!
