Pottery Artist : Westly Begaye Dimensions : 7" tall (including ladder) x 5 1/2" wide This is a wonderful hand coiled Acoma style pot by Navajo artist Westly Begaye. Westly was taught his trade by a good friend who happened to be from the Acoma Pueblo. Westly is known for his wonderful mimbres style work, as well as his traditional Acoma style. T is a traditional Acoma style parrot on the front, and a large flute player on the opposite side. The opening of the pot is what really draws the eye. It's a square top that is surrounded by traditional designs. T is a stationary ladder coming from the inside of the pot, about 2" out of the top of the pot. The two figues are painted with earth tone colors and traditional designs on the flute player. This is a great piece with lots of wonderful detail. The background of the pot has a dark buff color. The pot is in good condition with no scratches, nicks, or cracks. The bottom is signed and dated by Westly. All of our pottery items are shipped DOUBLE BOXED to prevent damage during their travels.
