OFFERED WITH NO RESERVE A HIGHLY ATTRACTIVE ALBUM OF 30 RENAISSANCE ARCHITECTURAL ENGRAVINGS DATING TO ABOUT 1550 AND BOUND IN FULL19TH CENTURY GREEN MOROCCO WITH GILT BORDERS (REBACKED). THE ALBUM IS FROM THE LIBRARY OF THE PRINCE & PRINCESS DE LA TOUR D’AUVERGNE-LAURAGUAIS. THE ENGRAVINGS IN THIS ALBUM ARE ORIGINALS AND ARE ABOUT 450 YEARS OLD; THEY ARE NOT REPRODUCTIONS. THIS ALBUM OF 30 RENAISSANCE ARCHITECTURAL ENGRAVINGS IS FROM THE LIBRARY OF THE PRINCE AND PRINCESS HENRI DE LA TOUR D’AUVERGNE-LAURAGUAIS. IN 1916, PRINCE HENRI DE LA TOUR D’AUVERGNE-LAURAGUAIS MARRIED ELISABETH BERTHIER DE WAGRAM, DAUGHTER OF THE THIRD PRINCE DE WAGRAM AND A MEMBER OF THE ROTHSCHILD DYNASTY. The House of De La Tour d’Auvergne includes within its lines the Counts of Auvergne and Boulogne, the Viscounts of Turenne and Princes of Sedan, and the Dukes of Bouillon and Albret. The line of De La Tour d’Auvergne-Lauraguais became in the 1896 the final surviving line of the House of De La Tour d’Auvergne. De La Tour d’Auvergne-Lauraguais are one of only six families (alongside the houses of Savoie, Lorraine, Grimaldi, Rohan and La Tremoille) to be granted the rights and privileges accorded to foreign princes. The volume is complete in itself (i.e. nothing suggests that anything originally present is now missing) and comprises 30 architectural engravings affixed to 19th century brown paper leaves. The volume measures about 26.5 cm by 21 cm by 1.5 cm; each leaf measures about 260 mm by 205 mm. The volume is bound in 19th century full green morocco with gilt borders and is in excellent condition internally and very good condition externally; it was rebacked in the 19th century. The hinges and book-block of the binding are very strong; the boards show moderate rubbing at the edges and heavier rubbing at the corners. Internally, the engravings are clean and are excellent impressions in all cases. This is a highly appealing album of engraved Renaissance artwork. As such, for international and U.S. customers we are able to ship out of a close Fed Ex and USPS outlet just across the border in the United States. We ship every Tuesday, weather permitting. For our Canadian customers we generally can ship using Canada Post or Fed Ex priority within 2 days after payment. All books are tracked. No shipping is charged for books sold when the reserve is met. For books sold without reserve the shipping amount is charged as follows: For customers outside North America we ship using USPS Priority International. This has proven to be a secure way to ensure delivery to most international locations within 10 days from the mailing date. Most books are shipped using Priority flat rate boxes. Oversized boxes for sets and large folios are calculated using online USPS tools. We charge the USPS rate plus $4.00 per box for no reserve auctions. Of course, it is also entirely possible to arrange shipment by FedEx Priority, immediately following payment , if such a service is desired. For customers within the U.S. we ship Fed Ex ground. Prices are generally reasonable and usually the item arrives within 5 days from the shipping date. Again we can ship using a faster method, from Canada. For customers in Canada we ship through Canada Post Expedited, every other day, which usually means 5 – 7 days for the book to arrive. As well we can ship faster, if desired.
