Tuck Comb is an approximately 6 1/4" jointed peg wooden doll that was hand carved by renown doll artist Sherman Smith. She is signed by the artist on her back "S. Smith 4/22/70." Tuck Comb's face is painted in an appealing manner with one stroke brows, blue eyes with large black pupils, rosy cheeks, and a pert red mouth. Her nose is three dimensional. Her black hair is painted in the manner of early tuck comb woodens with gray "shadow" curls framing her face. Her joints bend well and she holds a pose. Sherman Smith carved wooden dolls from 1955-1977. He is one of America's early doll artists and is renown for his work. Tuck Comb is dollhouse sized and will be fun to dress!PLEASE study the photos carefully and email with all questions! My photos detail her condition accurately.
