For your consideration, a beautifully painted 7" (to top of comb) Sherman Smith Tuck Comb (referring to the yellow hair ornament) doll in the style popular in the 1820s-40s, beautifully dressed in 1820s-30s style. She also wears pantalettes. She is jointed at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, and very posable. All joints work well. She has side curls which I have shown in side view pictures but do not photograph very well. She is signed "S. Smith 1963." Mr. Smith made dolls for me when I was a child, and his joints, the painting, the pointed black slippers and folk art style are all very distinctive. This lady has been displayed in a low-light environment and is ready to display in your cabinet. I am downsizing. She is among several very choice Sherman Smith dolls in the popular 6-7" size I will be listing in the next few days. If you purchase two Smiths, I will give you free shipping/insurance and ship them together. If you can, act fast -- some of the dolls I've listed today have only lasted a few minutes! Please be advised: Afteryears without any complaints and a perfect satisfaction score, I have only had one complaint in the last year, but it brought my percentage way down. The complaint happened when I sold two small doll outfit items. I couldn’t locate them to send to the buyer. When I couldn’t find them, I refunded her money. read more
