This is a panel from a Chirimen &crepe) silk Kimono, the background is a pale flesh Pink & it has a great design of Chrysanthemums, viewed side on & stylized clouds, which , perhaps a little whimsically, makes me think of Angels Wings when l look at it. The Clouds are in shades of Dove grey through to Charcoal & the 'mums in White, Black & Scarlet edged with gold, for scale the 'mums are about 9-10 inches long. Its an unusual & very nice esign, t are a few issues with the fabric, so l would not use it in a single panel, t are 3 or 4 tea coloured marks, l have photographed the most obvious & the gold dye on the White 'mums has worn off in places and t are some small areas of dark flecking. However, t is a good deal of very usable fabric in a super design, which will amply repay a bit of imagination in its use. .The panel is 14 ins wide & 63 ins long, a good addition to your stash!My current (and most major by a long way!) project is to turn a wonderful Barn into a family home so l need to raise some cash! So l will be listing all kinds of interesting stuff, fabrics & other items. First target is we need a floor & damp course! Most of my fabrics are sourced from Japan for my own handicraft projects & l sell my excess, so if you see one you like, please bid - it may be the only piece like it l ever list! I do not pretend to be an expert, l am an enthusiast with a love of fabric and want my customers to be happy with their purchase - l would never deliberately mislead. I describe to the best of my ability & am quite 'picky' about pointing out even minor flaws so no nasty surprises. All my fabrics are Vintage and these are taken from Vintage Kimono's l unpick them very carefully, but by their nature t may be fine pinholes along the seam line & some minor colour change across the seam line - if this is noticeable l will comment on it. I do not have the expertise to remove some marks so leave that to those of you who are more expert and for the same reason l do not iron my fabrics prior to sending them out as this may fix discolouration & prevent you using your skills if you choose to do so, l will comment on any marks l see. I describe colours to the best of my ability but perceptions & monitors do vary so if you have precise colour matches in mind, on line buying may not be for you. Having said that these fabrics are wonderful for their uniqueness, character, often classic design & a quality of manufacture not often seen in more recent fabrics. My fabrics come from a smoke free home - l do have pets but they are not allowed in my fabric room! These fabrics are perfect for all kinds of handicrafts. If you have any problem l will always do my best to sort it out if it is a reasonable complaint - l take pride in my fabrics. Just contact me directly. Just let me know when you have finished bidding. I post out Priority Airmail within 1 or 2 days of receiving payment & it usually takes a week for most destinations. However, recently l have encountered unexpected & long delays on USA shipping on occasion, l do apologise, the fabric is well worth waiting for. I do suggest strongly (particularly if you are buying several fabrics) that you take the option of paying an additional US$6.00 per package (so you only pay it once regardless of quantity) this gives a tracking number & Insurance which may speed things along & at least you can check w it is if t is a delay.
