Antique 1880s Couching Embroidered Gold Metallic Han-style Black silk Robe. From the Ch`ing dynasty It maybe a Chiang-i robe, I am not sure! The black silk is in great condition It has some woven-in symbols in the fabric, seen on the back The front closings are frayed two rope like details in the front and also details with swirled design. The Royal blue silk cuffs has some age deterioration in the silk, where the fold line is on the sleeve. The round batches has some loose stitches on the couching The embroidery featured Dragon and Phonix bird the back bottom embroidery and front is in excellent condition with no loosening of the stitches excellent lining in blue silk with no damage The worst loosening is on the Royal blue sleeve cuffs On the back, the rope is featuring the "Wan"symbol of 10.000 happiness An amazing example of the Chinese art of embroidery!
