ANTIQUE MINTON PARIAN FIGURE OF A GREYHOUND OR WHIPPET C1848 Super Minton Parian figure of a Greyhound reclining on a tasselled and fringed oblong cushion. No 18 in the Minton shape book. The base measures 4.25 inches long by 2 inches wide. The greyhound measures 2.5 inches high. In very good condition with just some roughness on the tip of the dogs nose. The figure is unmarked as so often with the earlier figures (according to Godden these figures are often attributed to the Rockingham factory). Gorgeous Greyhound with the sweetest of expressions it displays very well. A similar figure can be seen in MINTON POTTERY AND PORCELAIN of the FIRST PERIOD 1793-1850 Geoffrey Godden fig.141.
