A beautiful walnut, gold gilt, and black painted picture frame dated circa 1870's. The frame consists of three layers connected using antique square nails. The outer layer constructed of a dark finished walnut includes a painted black decorative border along the interior of the layer. Decorative grooves create a depth effect within the frame. The next layer is a flattened walnut layer with one raised groove with a black panted border line. The last, innermost layer is gold gilt. The interior dimensions are approximately 8'' x 10''. The overall frame is approximately 13.'' x 15'' and 3'' thick. Walnut in great shape. Some minor wear due to age. Spots of wear in gold layer. Please review all images for condition.This frame is dated circa 1870's. It's perfect for Victorian, Eastlake, Edwardian, Traditional, Civil War art, antique prints, oil paintings and for late 1800's decors.
