This is an antique Asian embroidery piece that is framed and matted. The embroidered piece is probably much older than the mat and frame it is currently in. The silk the flowers are embroidered on has faded from a bright blue to a soft green as you can see on the back of the piece where the silk has not been exposed to sunlight. The silk you can see on the back has a red and white stripe through it. The embroidery features a set of flowers including a bud and a full blown flower. The bud almost looks like a waterlily, but the flower looks more like a wild rose. There is no damage to the thread / embroidery. The fabric is matted in a circa 1920s mirror mat with a silver frame. The total framed size is about 26" tall by about 11&1/2" wide. The sight size is about 21" tall x by about 6&1/2" wide. The thread is a gold tone thread that is also in shades of green, pink, and and bright gold.
