We have posted many close up photographs of this antique Japanese Samurai Sword so you can see every detail, including the signature. We are far from experts and although I am sure this is an antique sword, we do not know who the sword maker was. Any information you would like to volunteer would be greatly appreciated and added to the bottom of the auction. That said, this auction is for an antique 19 th century Japanese Sword. This Sword is complete and retains its original Habaki (ferrule), the two Seppa (spacers), the Tsuba (guard), the Menuki (ornament) and the Kashira (pommel). It also has the original Tsuka (grip). The sword blade measures 34 1/8" (86.7cm) from the end of the tang straight across to the tip of the blade. We carefully removed the handle so you can clearly see the signature. We have also posted close up photographs so you can see the surface of the razor sharp blade where you will see some scratches. Like the sword the leather sheath is also in very good condition with all its original accoutrements. In the close up photographs of the iron Tsuba you will see some gold and silver inlay. This looks like a very early Tsuba and I am hoping it helps date the blade....... There is no reserve on this antique Japanese Samurai Sword.
