Albion Antiek Pink Transferware Plates Antique ca. 1840's Staffordshire Pottery This listing is for a beautiful pair of antique Staffordshire pottery plates. These octagonal plates have a molded relief daisy border with pink transfer printed centres showing a scene of a resting hunter with a woman and child and dog. These plates measure 8-7/8" across (22,5 cm). Both plates have crazing of the glaze and some staining (mostly on the back of the plates but also a bit on the front), one plate has a small area of glaze wear along the inner rim (really not very detracting, see close-up picture) and this same plate has a small chipped area on the back standing rim (see last close-up picture). Apart from that they are fine with no chips, no cracks and no repairs or restoration. There is slight wear from age and use. These plates are not marked but were almost certainly made in England (Staffordshire) and date to ca. 1840's. Please excuse any glares (white patches) that you may see in the pictures, these are caused by reflections of light on the glaze and are not on the actual object itself. Please note that I am located in the United Kingdom (London, England) which means that this item will be shipped from Europe.
