Antique English majolica, most probably Staffordshire, basket weave, sardine box with a arched sardine fish as a handle on the lid. The box has an attached underplate. There are two very small nicks, 1 on the lid and 1 on the underplate. Both are shown in the last two very enlarged photos. There is also some age crazing which is typical for antique majolica. The box measures approximately 8 1/2" in length, approximately 7 1/4" in width and approximately 4" in height.
