For sale is an old fire helmet from Norwalk, Connecticut. The helmet measures 13 3/4" in length, 10 1/2" wide and 6 3/4" in height. I am selling this for a nurse friend, the hat belonged to her late father, he was a Captain on the Norwalk Fire Dept. The brass element on top of the helmet is bent/crushed and there is some loss to the badge portion. She told me a ceiling collapsed on her father while fighting a fire on Grand Street many years ago and it damaged the hat, but saved his life. No I am not making it up. Please see photos for condition. If the purchaser would like more information on the fire Captain or the incident, I will ask my friend to provide it to the purchaser after the auction. Shipping is $16 due to size and weight of the item. Thank you.
