Antique Maple Syrup Thermometer Up for auction is an Antique Maple Syrup Glass Thermometer.Thermometer measures in at approx. 9" inches long.Marked on the inside is, "Baume Scale for Maple Syrup 60 F., Taylor - Rochester, N.Y., U.S.A.". Written on the opposite side is, "Cold Syrup 11 lbs. per Gallon, Hot Syrup 11 lbs. per Gallon".Also is a temp scale from 0 to 50.Thermometer is glass and has its original sleeve.Over all condition is excellent, with no visible cracks or chips.I do not know the date this was made, but if I were to guess I would say mid to late 1800's, but that is a guess.
