Superb antique Limoges 12 1/2" Vase made by the Bernardaud Company of Limoges with their mark #1 (B&C/France), used from 1900-1914. It is hand painted with a unique finish referred to as vellum, which is a muted pastel naturalistic style. It was decorated in the famous Stouffer Studios, with their mark #4 (Hand/Stouffer/Painted), used from 1906-1914. It is signed by the artist as JMJEL which is the signature of Thomas M. Jelinck, born in Austria in 1877. He worked for the Pickard Studios from about 1903 to 1905, when he left them and went to work with Stouffer where he stayed until 1922. The detail work on this vase is amazing.Excellent condition, with a very minor amount of wear to the gold on the top of the rim, as pictured. Otherwise, like new.Shipping will be priority mail and include careful packing, tracking, and insurance.
