Hertel, Schwab & Co. Character Baby Doll Description: Here's a lovely bisque head character baby by Hertel, Schwab & Company! This is a harder-to-find "dome" head Hertel character baby with the painted hair (the 151 mold; the 152 mold with open dome is more prevalent). She features a bisque socket head with blue glass sleep eyes and an open mouth with 2 porcelain upper teeth and tongue molded as part of the lower lip; and 5-piece bent limb composition baby body. Back of her head is marked "Made in Germany, 151/ 1." Wearing an antique white linen nightgown with lace trim and linen undershirt. Dimensions: Measures 11" tall . Condition: Bisque head is excellent with no chips or cracks and sleep eyes work well. Body is 97% wonderful with a glossy original finish ... but her right big toe is broken and she has chipping at the ends of several fingers. Has a piece of tape on her right thigh with "198" typed on it ... according to the previous owner it's the "original price tag" but I doubt that, rather I think it's an old inventory tag from a long-ago owner or perhaps a museum inventory tag.
