Very good to excellent condition hickory wooden shafted putter from Auchterlonie of St. Andrews, Scotland. Could be a Tom Auchterlonie putter, but most likely from his brothers D. & W. Auchterlonie. This is a long nose style wooden mallet putter. Appears to date circa 1900. The stampings simply state, “Auchterlonie.” Crown stamping remains bold. No cracks in club head, neck, or shaft. The slip plate is a beautiful ram’s horn. Slip plate still flush and secured by the original three wooden dowels. Club face is nick free. Top edge has just a little checking in the grain. Wooded shaft is certainly an original and has no chips or cracks. Stamped shaft has a slight St. Andrews bend. Intact period sheepskin grip is nice with intact whippings. Has a very large lead back weight with great patina. 35 ½ inches in total club length. Please see my other wood shafted and vintage collectable golf clubs. Some are quite rare. Also listing collectable PING putters on a regular basis. All without reserve. THANKS! Shipping to Canada is $18.00
