This beautiful piece is made and stamped by James Tufts, Triple Plate, Boston. All three pieces (base, cover, and insert) are original to the piece and all have the silversmith's etched number 5397. Measures almost 7" tall assembled, the lid has a pretty etched floral and wheat type design. The side has rings, as well as rings to hold the knife, and a ring on the lid. All in excellent condition, twisted butter knife also included. A great old serving piece by a well known and desirable maker. Please email wtih any questions or for more pictures, thanks!
