This is a beautiul and rare example of a Majolica Pottery Tray, .. dating from circa. 1870. The tray is decorated with a deep relief moulded pattern of overlapping leaves, ferns and blossoms, ... the leaf stems intricately twisted to form the handles, ... then finished in a rich glaze typical of majolica wares. The tray is in fair condition. One of the handles has been damaged and repaired. T is a repaired chip to the rim edge, ... these are shown in the photos. Length : 11.9 ins. / 30.4 cms.
