This auction is for an antique John Bliss & Co – Taffrail Log – last patent date was 9/17/1878. I am not sure if this is complete, t may be a wing part that goes inbetween to the two missing- I am not sure is the rope was the actual original means of attaching these together. I think this was trailed behind a ship to measure speed. The section with the gauges is in very nice shape. The glass is intact and the brass is just in need of a polish, It measures 11 inches long, top to bottom of the ring. The wording inside the glass is very readable. The back section of this is 9.5 inches long. T are some scratches on the wings and the marking is branded on one of the wings ( John E. hand & Sons, Phil –Balt).. All in all this item is in very good shape. - Buyer gets these as seen and described.. Shipping is 6lbs boxed . I combine shipping on multiple purchases. Please note I am located on the east coast so shipping times vary in length depending on your location. The USPS states priority takes 1-3 days, Parcel post 3-9 days. UPS states shipping can take 3-6 days. So if you are on the west coast please expect the longest time for delivery. I cannot control how long it takes once I ship it. I usually ship the day after payment. Please email me at least 24 hours prior to the end of the auction with any questions, I try to answer all emails in a timely fashion, but I don't monitor the email all day long. IF BUYER REQUIRES special packing buyer shall pay for the extra materials needed. Insurance is extra if desired. I highly suggest the insurance, I am not responsible for lost or damaged items. International buyers, please understand in order to track and insure the packages USPS only does that with International Priority, I require that insurance be purchased with all international orders, if you elect not to buy the insurance I am NOT responsible for lost items or items hung up in customs, Paypal is preferred method of payment Domestic & International.
