Fine antique country Federal maple, New England secretary/desk, from the 1830s . Very nice, antique country tiger maple Federal desk/secretary, from the 1830s. To the back is a tall crested gallery, below is a fall fronted desk with pull-out loper supports, inside is a fitted interior having six drawers, two tall document drawers and two pigeon holes, t is a locking door to the center with two enclosed drawers. Below are four graduated drawers flanked by turned columns and terminating onto turned feet, the back also has maple as the secondary woods, dovetailed construction throughout, retains the original black polychromed outlines on the crest, drawers and columns. The desk is; 58.5" tall x 44" wide x 35" deep when writing surface is open x 20" deep when closed, condition is very good no repairs, damage or alterations, a fine country Sheraton New England secretary from the 1830s. A good investment in uncertain times!
