*Hello, and Welcome to my auction! * is a GORGEOUS ANTIQUE HANDPIECED QUILT TOP in the intricate and very beautiful JOB'S TROUBLE or PERIWINKLE pattern. This pattern may also be called CRAZY STAR, Moon and Stars, or CIRCLES AND KITES, or WORLD WITHOUT END.. *This QUILT TOP is a RARE beauty, coming from an East Texas estate we recently cleared. It had been carefully stored away for many years, and passed through two generations of the family ~ truly a beautiful keepsake. *Every part of this beautiful piece was hand sewn, with very tiny stitches, and shows 'perfection' in workmanship, materials and quality. *Measures 72" x 82" *The pattern consists of very tiny 1 1/2" pieces over the entire quilt top. The circle is made up of four pie shaped pieces, connected by Stars or Kites. *Materials: The circles are solid natural color, made of unbleached domestic. The Kites are of old, old FEEDSACK materials and other old, old cotton prints. *The workmanship on this quilt top is awesome. T are 6-7 stitches to an inch, neatly matched at all points, and accurately and carefully made. The detail and accuracy of this intricate pattern is incredible!
