Fine antique c1820-1840 English Staffordshire Red and Green Transferware Teapot. Embossed porcelain overlayed with two colors of transfers, the focal art work is a red pasture scene with cows and castles in the distance. Bordered top and bottom with detailed green filigree. A large pot, it measures 6 1/2" high x 10 1/2" long x 5 1/2" wide. Well loved, the interior this teapot and it's lid show the stains and crazing from generations of hot brewed tea. I have not repaired, cleaned, scrubbed, soaked or bleached this lovely teapot in anyway. It's wonderful antiquity is beautiful just as it is travelling through time. Condition: spout and front rim both show missing areas and remnants of old yellowed glue. Odd small dot near spout might be a kiln pop. Another flake chip on the underside of the lid but it shows no old glue, tiny flake chip on base bottom rim. T are two cracks one runs down from the pot's rim chip and the second goes across the base and up each side each stopping at the bottom shoulder. The handle is complete, not broken anyw This piece is impressed by the maker, with a sunburst, wheel or spoke type of mark. Over that mark is a transfer mark of what might be a 10.
