BEAUTIFUL Vintage Antique Reproduction French Bru Brevete Doll By Artist Neva Wade Garnett - Calli - Lou. This is a just gorgeous reproduction of a French Bru Brevete by noted artist & author Neva Wade Garnett. Neva is the author of several books on doll making & is most noted for "Painting French Dolls with China Painting Techniques" as well as a book on leather body making. Her mother was Clara Wade who took over the Humpty Dumpty Doll Hospital from Emma Clear. This Bru Brevette Reproduction doll is 19" tall with a bisque head, shoulderplate & lower arms on a beautifully constructed & tightly stuffed kid body. She has delicately painted features with blue glass eyes, pierced ears (they have wires inserted-just add the drop of your choice), and light blushing on the shoulderplate & hands. She has a styrofoam pate & is marked Calli-Lou Bru 1972 on the back of her head. Her wig was handmade by me (Sally Cutts) many years ago & is a light blonde mohair with curls & braids around the sides with a braided bun at the back. There are no hairlines, chips, cracks or any other damage to the bisque. The only damage at all is a small repaired tear on the kid torso(see last picture) - probably from a doll stand & two tiny pinholes in the kid on her upper right arm. She is a really wonderful doll who is waiting for someone to put her in the costume
