Antique Silver Tantalus ByWalker & Hall, Sheffield"Holdfast" Patent c.1890Antique silver plated decanter Tantalus signed "W&H Walker & Hall Sheffield The Only Holdfast Patent". The founding company was started by George Walker in 1845 and Walker & Hall in 1853. They quickly became world renowned for their extreme quality and very heavy plating. Enjoy this fabulous three decanter tantalus in its original patina and character. This heavy silver plate is a superb example of quality of the late 1800's. The three decanters are also original. Each hand cut with deep sharp detail. The decanters are numbered as Is the base of the tantalus. One stopper is ground at neck. Working lock also with the original key.Overall this piece of history is in excellent condition with only very minor signs of use. It will certainly be a class act at your next social gathering.
