Mantua's Astrolabe is a fine reproduction of a typical French sloop from the early 1800’s. this model was built up using plans obtained from the French Naval Museum of Paris. The Astrolabe was a famous exploration and survey vessel. Scale 1:50, Length: 1100 mm Height: 820 mm A plank on frame hull construction, building plans with general details, English instructions, lost wax brass castings walnut planking, wooden masts and spars, brass and walnut fittings, laser etched details, rigging cord and silk flag. All sheet ply sections are laser cut for accuracy. Outside box has shop wear. Contents still new.
