Baroque Oignon verge fusee James Girod, London 1695 Baroque Oignon verge fusee pocket watch made by James Girod, London App. 1695. Both cases are made of silver with Casemakers mark (IR). Both cases in are in very good condition with only small signs of age. Two fine guild hands. Mineral glass with bulls eye in good condition with some minor scratches. Champleve dial with watchmaker brand Girod London " and blackened numerals. Roman hour and Arab minute. Very high movement with slotted columns. Decorative pierced balance cook dekorated with birds and onaments. Fine guild Verge fusee movement signed "James Girod London”.Very nice overall condition. The clock was cleaned and checked by my watchmaker. The movement is running accurate. Diameter 56mm, height 30mm. Weight 137g. Reference : G.H. Baillie “Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the world "London, 1947, page 124: James Girod, London 1689, Clockworkers Company from 1792 to 1700. He is represented with his watches in the Ilbert Collection.
