He is the son in law and a disciple with Kunisada and Kuniyoshi of the great Toyokuni. After, the death of his master, he took the name of Toyokuni II but his rivalry and animosity with Kunisada and others students of Toyokuni was legendary and in 1830, he called himself back to Toyoshige. Now, generally his prints are very rare. This print represents a geisha who is arranging her hairs. Her face is very cute. We can see combs and ornemental hairpins. Her Kimono is very impressive.
