This knife for auction is an Ultra Rare piece, the "1992 First Run Production" BenchMark SS 3 Genuine Smoothbone Lockblade, 4" closed. This knife features the Sandvik 13C-26 Swedish high carbon stainless steel blade, and is etched on the front with an encircled "Hunting Classics Ltd. Bench Mark Knives USA". The rear side is etched with "Bench Mark Knives First Run Production By Hunting Classics, Ltd. Jan. 1992". Please see the Supersize Photos. This BenchMark Smoothbone SS 3 reads "BENCHMARK" on the front tang and features the oval BenchMark Knives USA shield. We've had a few of the Cocobolo wood SS 3 BenchMark Lockblades over the years, but this is the very first Smoothbone I've ever had in person.
