Scandinavian Signed Bjorn Wiinblad Rosenthal. Orientalist Series Plate. No chips or cracks, nice finish. Beautiful 8 Inch square Plate designed by Bjorn Wiinblad for Rosenthal. Bjorn Wiinblad plumbs the depth he reached in Magic Flute dinnerware and allows us another look into his fascinating imagination with the gift items. Richly decorated, and all showing Persian influence, the 1001 Nights items are whimsical designs done on a cobalt blue background. No two are decorated with the same characters, the same presentation. Rich in color, the line captures the romanticism of the Rubyiat and continues to engage our attention in all of the decorations which Wiinblad adapted to the theme. This wonderful studio-linie, studio-line plate has become a much sought after collector piece. Bjorn Wiinblad died in June 2006. He is our generation's Picasso!
