Twenty-eighth Annual Report of the Bureau of American Ethnology to the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution 1906-07 By W. H. Holmes, Chief of the Bureau, and published by the Government Printing Office in 1912, this hardcover volume is approximately 11 1/2" x 8" and 308 pages, plus a "List of Publications of the Bureau of American Ethnology" that is over 30 pages long. The contents include the Chief's report and accompanying papers ("Casa Grande, Arizona, by Jesse Walter Fewkes," "Antiquities of the Upper Verde River and Walnut Creek Valleys, Arizona, by Jesse Walter Fewkes," "Preliminary report on the linguistic classification of Algonquian tribes, by Truman Michelson"). Book is in very good condition with minor edge wear. Corners are bumped, and edges have a little rubbing. Textblock edges are lightly age-toned. Few superficial scratches on boards.
