We did list a portion of this Asian Arts collection around one month ago online which brought some Amazing interest online. We have now decided to sell the remaining portion of the collection, and we believe some of the finest pieces. I do not know a great deal about many of the pieces, but do believe t are some Very Fine and Rare examples listed. You do not see collections like this come up for auction very often.

ITEM: Up for auction is a Rare c1820 Chinese Gold Lacquer Scenic Sewing Chest. The Sewing Chest is part of a Large Asian Arts Collection up for auction, as you can see in the last picture.

The Sewing Chest is one of the nicest and most Impressive examples we have seen. The Chest is Finely and Ornately decorated all around with Chinese Scenes and Figures. The Chest also has some of its original Carved Sewing Tools as you can see. The Chest has a Large Compartment above with a pull out Compartment underneath, with many Compartments inside, also with nice Figural designs. The Sewing box does have small chips throughout, and age cracks to the top lid, from the wood shrinking over the years, that I believe would be found on all examples of this age. But is an Untouched Original piece, and could be restored and touched up if desired but we think it is great just as it is. The Chest also has nice Brass Side Handles with Very Early Patina, and I believe would be original. The Sewing Chest is a Large Impressive size measuring 14 inches long, by 10 inches wide, and stands 6 1/2 inches tall. I do not think you see to many period examples like this come up for auction.

As usual we always start all our items nice and low, and have Never had a Reserve on one item..Ever! Just like a Real Auction should be! The Rare c1820 Chinese Gold Lacquer Scenic Sewing Chest would make a great addition to any collection. BEST OF LUCK WITH THE AUCTIONS!
