This is a signed Carlie Tart Art Pottery Bowl, measuring 8.5", and dated 2000. Carlie Tart (1924-2006) was a WWII veteran, who became a master potter, teacher and author (and was a master chef, singer and musician also!). He wrote "The Beginner and the Wheel" in 1962, I think he authored another one as well, and was the inventor of both a pottery wheel and "Crea-Stone". He had a pottery shop called T-art Pottery, and he is especially known for his jug-face pottery pieces. He was born and lived in Johnston County NC. This bowl is about 8.5" across, and about 3" tall. It is in excellent condition, it looks like it must have been a display piece, with no marks to the design of the bowl itself. There is some minor chipping at the very bottom of the base, or it may just be marks that were part of the creation process. Please see pictures for condition and all details. Enjoy!
