a Super Fine early Cheyenne "war shield" medicine bag --about 4" dia.--this is fairly large for a medicine bag --completely stuffed about 1" thick --t are some hard thingies inside, but I have no idea what it has inside --these large circular medicine bags were typically made to match a "war shield" design--my Cheyenne and Sioux friends tell me these were sometimes hung from the "war shield", sometimes hung from the front of the horse, and sometimes worn by the warrior--these are almost impossible to find intact, as over the years, many were cut open to see what was inside --I guess folks thought the Sioux and Cheyenne were hiding gold coins or somthing inside --this came from a good Cheyenne friend of mine before he went away to prison for a stretch, so this one has never been fooled with --the back of the leather has a faint greenish tinge to it, so may have been dyed green at one time --this is a really Great early Cheyenne "war shield" medicine bundle bag !!!!!
