Signed with two seals impressed on the back, one showing the mark of Dehua and and the other probably an artist's signature.20th Century. SIZE: Height - 10.5" / Width - 5.5" / Depth - 4.6" A fine and beautiful Dehua (Blanc de Chine) figure of Guanyin seated, with her right hand holding the Ruyi scepter. Her face lowered with her eyes slightly looking down to the world. She is clothed in an elegant voluminous flowing robe falling in thick folds. The robe is open at the chest to reveal a beaded necklace.The detail and modeling of the figure is very fine.This piece is in good condition with no damage or repairs. No chips, no losses, no restorations. Very slight wear to the bottom of the foot.There is a gourd-shaped seal mark on the back, as well as a square mark. The Dehua Kiln (founded during the Ming Dynasty), is the producer of world-famous Dehua porcelain ware. The glaze color of their porcelain articles is a very beautiful soft lusterous white. Dehua ware is one of the most precious porcelain articles of China. Although the exact age of this piece is unknown, it may date to the Republic Period - early 20th century.
