COMPASS. See picture for details. I am stating this is a World War II Allied Forces compass, but would like to know if I am incorrect. The compass is 1 3/4 inch in diameter and has the word Wittnauer on the face. The front opens by pushing down the button (like a pocket watch) to reveal ther compass. The back snaps off to reveal a slate piece, probably used for writing. The needle is mounted in brass and is free floating with a point in a brass recessed piece. Condition is excellent, but shows use.
