considering the details, they just dont get finer than this early 19th century pennsylvania original candle box. measures 8 1/4''l x 6 5/8''w x 3''h and has the best warmly seasoned and untouched original oxblood red painted surface. in all original prestine condition it is museum quality and in fact i was told there is an almost identical one in the philadelphia museum. exceptionally unique the corners are vertically dovetailed meaning the dovetail runs the whole length of the corner and can be seen only at the top. there are virtually no losses, damages nor any repairs to this candle box and it shows extraordinary true period character.
