Japanese Antique Hand Painted Hanging Scroll SANSUI Sign (or seal): TANOMURA CHOKUNYU (1814~1907) Chokunyu was born in Kyushu but moved to Kyoto and became pupil and adopted son of the well-known artist Tanomura Chikuden . Chokunyu was mainly a nanga artist but he also did calligraphy and some Zen -style paintings. Material = Silk Condition = Good Roller Ends = Wood There is a document box of authenticity by Tanomura Shochiku . Tanomura shochiku (1880-1945) He was a Great-grandchild of Tanumora Chikuden. He studied painting under his father, Tanomura Chokunyu & Kawamura Ukoku.
