FINE ENGLISH DELFT WARE 12.2" CHARGER LONDON c1755-60 FINE TIN GLAZED FAIENCE Stylish, unusual and impressive eighteenth century English Defltware charger measuring 12 ¼ inches in diameter the charger probably manufactured in London (Lambeth), if not Bristol c1755-60. The charger very boldly and finely painted with a curiously animated waiting china man beneath a tree, flanked by trees, shrubs and sinuous rockwork, with birds hovering in the sky above. The charger has a border of stylised pendant florets suspending foliate swags. Bidders should see ‘English Delftware by F H Garner & Michael Archer’, they will note that this piece I offer has distinct comparable elements with the Lambeth Bottle Vase (Plate 117 A) and the charger (Plate 95A). The piece I offer here measures 12 ¼ inches in diameter and is generally in excellent condition, it has a couple of small/ very small rim chips (illustrated) and some glaze frits principally to outer edge of rim, incorporating one large than usual frit to small patch on reverse (illustrated - last) as can be seen in photos, the piece displays magnificently and is otherwise as pictured. I offer this piece very competitively priced and without reserve, see my other eighteenth century English delft wares. I have quoted postage to Uk, France, Germany, US, Canada, Japan and Australia, please feel read more
